In partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI), LAIKA is proud to headline the upcoming film season, Stop Motion: Celebrating Hand-Crafted Animation on the Big Screen, this summer at London’s BFI Southbank. Extensive cinematic screenings—including all five LAIKA films—will take place alongside Frame x Frame, an exhibition showcasing LAIKA’s decades of artistry up close and personal. Frame x Frame visitors will get exclusive access to see an array of LAIKA puppets, props, dioramas, and movie artifacts, learn behind-the-scenes stop-motion secrets, and walk through an iconic Coraline set recreated at a human scale. The Frame x Frame exhibition runs August 12–October 1.

In partnership with the Visit Downtown Campaign, Wild in Art, and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Coraline’s Curious Cat Trail debuts in downtown Portland this August in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Coraline. The trail features 30 almost six-foot tall Cat sculptures, creating a free art trail for visitors to explore—complete with maps and digital interactions. Coraline’s Curious Cat Trail opens Friday, August 2, runs for 10 weeks, is free to the public, and will culminate with an auction to find permanent homes for these one-of-a-kind feline statues with proceeds to benefit OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Hidden Worlds: The Films of LAIKA is now open at Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture, spanning more than 7,500 square feet of exhibition space with immersive displays, film artifacts, and interactives spotlighting Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link, and Wildwood. Visitors will be immersed in the “hidden worlds", of LAIKA — both the magical settings the characters inhabit and the behind-the-scenes wonders of producing these modern classics.

Come see LAIKA's lovable characters at Behind the Screen, a core exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image. The exhibit immerses visitors in the history and technology of the production, promotion, and exhibition of the moving image from the late 19th-century to the present day. The animation stations in Behind the Screen will offer an engaging hands-on experience for visitors to create their own stop-motion animations with LAIKA’s characters. In addition to these interactive experiences, the exhibit also includes twelve puppets and two dioramas used during production of LAIKA’s five feature films.

Throughout the month of October, The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will celebrate LAIKA's films with a series called The Magical Films of LAIKA, presented as part of their Family Matinees series. This series marks the first studio partnership in which the Academy Museum will screen the studio’s entire filmography.
